When you lose your IMEI number you won't be able to make or receive calls, sms and you won't get any signal. This can be quite frustrating and frightening as well. Believe me I have been through such situation. So I am writing this tutorial to teach you how you can restore or fix lost IMEI on almost every MTK based device, I'll be using Gionee M3 for tutorial.
Using ROOTED Device (see How to Root Gionee Marathon M3)
Requirements
Once you have got all the stuff required for procedure follow the steps below.
1. Run MTK Engineering Mode App and select MTK Settings
Using ROOTED Device (see How to Root Gionee Marathon M3)
Requirements
- Rooted Device
- A valid IMEI number (can be found under back cover or on the box in which device came in)
- MTK Engineering Mode App - Play Store / APK
Once you have got all the stuff required for procedure follow the steps below.
1. Run MTK Engineering Mode App and select MTK Settings
2. Swipe left to connectivity and Scroll down to CDS Information
You can see your IMEI by pressing *#06#
3. Now select Radio Information
Just click on Phone 1 first. then enter the Command as AT+EGMR=1,7,"your first imei" without space as in image below and then tap on SEND AT COMMAND it will show you that command sent
4. Then you will be able to see Phone 1 and Phone 2 (if you have a Dual Sim Phone)
Just click on Phone 1 first. then enter the Command as AT+EGMR=1,7,"your first imei" without space as in image below and then tap on SEND AT COMMAND it will show you that command sent
5. Now press back button and Tap on Phone 2 (if you have a Dual Sim phone) and Type AT+EGMR=1,10,"second imei"and tap on send at command.
Now Just Restart you device and enjoy now Sim Card will Display the Network in the status bar.You can see your IMEI by pressing *#06#
If App shows "This Command is not allowed in UserBuild" just put a space between AT and +EGMR this error usually occurs in KitKat. So if you are a KitKat user or have this error use following command
AT +EGMR=1,7,"your first imei"
AT +EGMR=1,10,"second imei"
Don't forget little space between AT and +EGMR
