How to flash a custom recovery

Installing a Custom Recovery allows you to flash custom ROMs, backup your phone, restore from backups and much more. As always, make sure you have backed up your data before you begin.

You will need:

• Rooted Android Device
• USB Cable
• USB Drivers
• Custom Recovery File
• Android SDK

Step 1: Install USB Drivers

Download and install USB drivers for Gionee M3 from here.

Step 2: Choose a Custom Recovery

The two most popular recoveries are TWRP and ClockWorkMod. Download any one of the recoveries from this blog.

Step 3: Download Flashify

Next head to Google Play Store and download Flashify or alternatively you can download apk from here. 

Now open Flashify and allow root permissions.

Select Recovery Image

Navigate to recovery file

Now click Yup

Your recovery will now be installed.
